Legislation

CFRW maintains a fulltime Legislative Advocate and Lobbyist. Through our advocate's Weekly Update we are provided with constant monitoring of activities surrounding our State Capitol and of importance to the members of our federation.

As we proceed through the State Legislative Year many bills are worth studying and warrant further education. These are not necessarily bills and legislation on which we have taken a position as an organization but items that we continue to monitor.

CFRW does take positions on some issues through a process started by our Legislative Advocate. Our advocate sorts all legislation and sends copies to the Issue Chairmen for analysis. After study these Issue Chairman send their recommendations of support, opposition or monitor. The CFRW State President then confers with the CFRW Vice-Presidents North, Central and South and the Northern, Central and Southern Division Presidents who vote on the stance. Votes are sent back to the Advocate's office and once a majority is reached CFRW Official Position is sent to the author and published in our Canvassing the Capitol.

LACFRW also follows a process to take stands on issues of local importance. Our national organization, NFRW, follows a similar procedure to take stands on issues facing the United States Congress.

Our Issues chairmen and State Advocate track legislation and apprise us of those bills we watch during the legislative term. Information changes daily and as we report to our membership the current status of bills this can suddenly change.

Below are several links for those who wish to follow the bills that we have undertaken to study or to search out information on the issues that concern you. If you feel strongly regarding an issue, notify our advocate and we will try to address your concerns.
